Levelland Junior Leads the 4A State Field After Opening Day

Levelland Junior Max Vergara shot an opening round 69 at the Legends Golf Course in Kingsland Texas and leads the 4A UIL Boys State Golf Tournament by a stroke after one round.

After shooting one under on the front nine, Vergara shot two down on the back side for the 69 and the one stroke lead.

Maddox Burton of Uplift North Hills Prep, Jaxon Donaldson of Wimberley and Price Hill of Boerne are all one back with opening round 70’s,

Vergara will tee up his second round tomorrow morning at 9:00am.
