Sundown Edges Eagles In 10-6 Contest
Sundown Roughnecks would beat the Seagraves Eagles in a 10-to-six game, as the Roughnecks would use the community pitch.
The Roughnecks would strike first in the bottom of the first on three walks and a single from Jaxon Rodriguez. They would score one more in the second on two singles and two errors.
Seagraves would tie it up in the top of the fourth scoring three runs on a walk, two hit batters, and two singles. Sundown would score four in the bottom of the inning to take the lead back leading the Eagles seven-to-three.
Both Sundown and Seagraves would score two in the fifth inning and the Roughnecks would hold the lead nine-to-five.
Sundown would score one more in the bottom of the sixth, and Seagraves would only score one in the top of the seventh. The final score would be 10-to-six in favor of Sundown.
The Roughnecks would score 10 runs on 14 hits, they would committ three errors and leave seven stranded. The Eagles would score six runs on four hits, they would committ three errors of their own and leave four on base.
The win would go to Roughneck pitcher Jeffery Rodriguez as he would throw the first four innings and allow three runs, two of them earned on two hits. He would walk one and strikeout nine. Rian Rose would throw for one inning of relief allowing two earned runs on no hits. Rose would walk and strikeout one batter a piece. Jaxon Rodriguez would finish the last two innings allowing one earned run on two hits. Rodriguez would strikeout four batters.
The loss would go to Raymond Rodriguez as he would pitch for three and a third, allowing seven runs six earned on nine hits. Rodriguez would walk three, and strikeout three. Zane Thompson would pitch the last two and two thirds, and allow three earned runs on five hits. Thompson would walk one and strikeout one.
The Sundown Roughnecks would continue their undefeated season with a record of 17-and-oh and a district record of four-and-oh. The Roughnecks will be back in action on Saturday April 1st as they host New Home.
