Pena Bangs Out Five Hits in Lobo Win over El Paso Hanks
The Levelland Lobos road a five-hit day from senior outfielder Joel Pena and in a seven-to-two win over El Paso Hanks. The win moves the Lobos to eight-and-six on the season.
Pena singled in the first, doubled in the second, singled in the fourth, singled in the fifth, and singled in the seventh.
Levelland would rack up 19 hits on the day as Noah Tienda, Joel Pena, Alex Cervantez, Blake Klose, and Jerry Haile all recorded a multi-hit day.
Levelland got seven runs on 19 hits with four errors while El Paso Hanks scored just two runs on ten hits and three errors.
Brayden Moore recorded the start and the win tossing six full innings allowing two runs with none earned. Those came on eight hits, five walks and two strikeouts.
Carson Boggs tossed an inning of scoreless relief allowing two hits and carded two strikeouts.
Levelland will play four more in the basin with two on Friday and one on Saturday.
They play Lubbock Christian at Noon on Friday at Midland High and Pecos at 6:00pm on Friday night at Midland Greenwood. Saturday they return to Midland High to play Monahans at 9:00am.
