The Coaching Carousel has Turned Again and Landed a Former Lobo at Plains
The coaching carousel is slowing as we head for fall sports season but the turn has dropped off former Levelland Lobo Daniel Hurn as the head Track and Field coach and offensive coordinator for football at Plains ISD.
Hurn is a 2017 graduate of Levelland ISD where he lettered in track and field as well as football.
Following high school he headed to Wayland Baptist University where he earned his bachelor’s degree while playing college football and running track.
He began his career at Dumas where he spent his first year first year teaching eighth grade U.S. History and coached football, basketball, and track.
“It was one of the most rewarding years of my life and I can’t wait to start building those relationships here in Plains,” said Hurn via press release from Plains ISD. “I am beyond grateful for the opportunity to be a little closer to home and to be joining the Plains family.”
He comes from a family of coaches as his older brother Kevin “KJ” Hurn coaches girls basketball and teaches history at Silverton ISD.
