The Lobos Still Search for Offense with Loss at Greenwood

November 24, 2021

The Levelland Lobos went looking to improve their offensive output on Tuesday and while the scoring was up from Monday, turnovers were still an issue as Levelland dropped the contest to the Rangers 66-to-46 to move to one-and-three on the season.

The Lobos would trail 31-to-26 at the half and while the Greenwood Rangers would score 21 in the third and 14 more in the fourth, the Lobos couldn’t keep pace and fell 66-to-46 for the loss.

Levelland got 14 from Zameron LeCroy, 12 from Taeshaun Jones and ten from Jerry Haile in the loss while Caleb Salazar scored nine and Aaron Williams added a single free throw.

Greenwould would find four double figure scorers as Colton Calicoatte scored 18, Alex Gutierrez added 14, Brennyn Barnhill tossed in 13 and Kevin Kitto scored 12 in the win.

The turnover number was down for the Lobos at 16 on the game but shots didn’t fall as the Lobos hit 15-of-39 from the field at 38% and just 11-of-23 from the free throw line at 48%.

Greenwood shot it pretty well at 26-fo-49 from the field at 51% while connecting on 11-of-17 from the free throw line.

Levelland will slip to one-and-three on the season going into the Thanksgiving break as they return to the court on November 30th with a trip to Andrews.

Both Junior Varsity teams tip at 4:30pm with Varsity Girls and Freshman Boys at 6:00pm and Varsity Boys and Freshman Girls at 7:30pm.

Catch the Lobos and Loboettes live on KLVT AM1230, and on Levelland Sports Nation on Facebook with the pregame show starting at 5:30pm.
