Loboettes Win Third Straight and Get Back Into Hunt for a District Title

April 7, 2021

The Levelland Loboettes hit the road on Tuesday and hit Estacado up for a 16-to-five win. For the Loboettes it’s their third district win in a row as they climb back into the hunt for district hardware.

The Loboettes got started early as Chloe Constantino hit her ninth homerun of the year and the three run shot put Levelland in front three-to-nothing after a half inning.

Estacado would get one back in the bottom of the first on a Loboette error and a RBI single from Ja’cquelynn Jones leaving Levelland in front three-to-one after one.

Levelland scored again in the second on back-to-back doubles from Madalon Rico and Jaclyn Puente to push the lead to four-to-one Levelland after two and they piled on in the third.

Kiki Childers would hit a two-run jack and Madalon Rico hit her first homerun of 2021 on a three run shot. It put Levelland in front nine-to-one to the bottom of the third.

Estacado would get three back in the bottom of the third on a couple of Loboette errors and a two run triple from Jayce Gutierrez cutting the score to Levelland 9, Estacado 4 after three but the Lady Matadors would get no closer.

Natalie Coronado would homer in the fourth to push the lead to ten-to-four after four and Levelland scored another in the sixth on three singles from Coronado, Constantino and Childers.

Estacado scored one in the bottom of the sixth on a three singles cutting the lead to Levelland 12, Lubbock Estacado 5 after six.

Levelland crossed four more in the seventh on a triple from Chloe Constantino, a two-run homerun from Angelia Gonzalez and singles from Madalon Rico and Kiki Childers.

The four run seventh put it well out of reach as the Loboettes cruised in for the 16-to-five win to move to three-and-two in district, run their win streak to three and move to 11-13-and-one on the season.

Levelland banged out 16 runs on 20 hits with five errors and seven left. Lubbock Estacado got five runs on nine hits with one error and seven left.

Natalie Coronado pitched her ninth win of the season working all seven allowing just five runs with two earned on nine hits, two walks, a hit batter and seven strikeouts.

Levelland hit five homeruns in contest as Natalie Coronado, Chloe Constantino, Angelia Gonzalez, Madalon Rico and Kiki Childers all went deep for the Loboettes.

The win moves the Loboettes to three-and-two and to 10-13-and-one the year and climb back into the hunt for not only a district playoff spot but a district championship as well.

Levelland returns home on Friday to play host to the Snyder Lady Tigers with Varsity first pitch at 5:00pm and Junior Varsity to follow.
