Loboettes Knock Off District Leading Big Spring and Head to Estacado on a Two Game Winning Streak

April 2, 2021

Coming into their fourth district game in 2021 the one-and-two Levelland Loboettes got back to 500 on Thursday night knocking off district leading Big Spring in a convincing way to get back into the hunt for a district title for 2021. Levelland would hand Big Spring their first loss in district 13-to-two in six innings.

Big Spring got on the board first on a walk to Jocelyn Gonzales followed by a RBI double from Kylee Lynch to take a one-to-nothing lead after a half inning.

The lead would not las a moment as Natalie Coronado hit a solo homerun with two out in the bottom of the first to tie the contest at a run each. The lead became Levelland’s on a single from Chloe Constantino followed by a RBI double from Angelia Gonzalez giving the Loboettes a two-to-one lead after one.

They would never trail again.

While Big Spring and Levelland got runners in the second, neither got runs again until the third.

Big Spring’s Jocelyn Gonzales would draw another walk and score on a RBI single from Jarah Wood to retie the game at two-all to the bottom of the third but that would be it for the Lady Steers.

Levelland would get two in the bottom of the third when Natalie Coronado reached on an error followed by singles from Chloe Constantio and Kiki Childers to retake the lead Levelland 4, Big Spring 2 after three.

Levelland would add another run in the fourth and another in the fifth to run the lead to Levelland 6, Big Spring 2 after five.

Levelland would end it in the sixth.

Amber Kelly, Natalie Coronado and Chloe Constantino would all walk before Kiki Childers would clear the bases with a three run triple. Deliah Rodriguez would follow with a RBI single and Maldalon Rico would single behind her. With two on and two gone, Rodriguez and Rico would score on a Big Spring error and Levelland would hang up seven runs in the sixth to end the contest at 13-to-two Levelland in six innings.

Levelland got 13 runs on 13 hits with two errors and left eight on. Big Spring got just two runs on four hits with three errors and left five.

Natalie Coronado pitched a six inning win allowing two runs with one earned on just four hits, three walks and a strikeout while Kiki Childers went two-for-four with four RBI in the win.
