Lobos Open District with a Dub on the Road, Levelland Blows Out Lakeview 70-to-31

The Levelland Lobos opened district strong on Tuesday night getting a 70-to-31 road win at San Angelo Lakeview. The win moves the Lobos to 11-and-six on the year and to one-and-oh in district play.
Levelland got a fast start as Kaleb Penner and Bryant White both connected on threes and Levelland forced 11 Chief turnovers in the front eight minutes to take a 19-to-four lead after one frame.
That was pretty much the tale of the night.
Levelland dropped 15 in the second while holding Lakeview to nine and led 34-to-13 at the half.
That would grow further as Levelland led 60-to-21 after three and rolled in for the 70-to-31 win.
Four Lobos found double figures as Zaiden LeCroy paced Levelland with 16 points on six-of-six effort from the free throw line. Kaleb Penner dropped 14 on the back of a pair of threes while Taeshaun Jones scored 12 from the bench and Bryant White added ten. Isaiah Salazar and Caleb Salazar scored six each while Jerry Halie and Hunter Read scored two each in the win.
San Angelo Lakeview didn’t find a double figure scored while Tony Cabrera scored seven off the bench to pace the Chiefs while RJ Bohannon and Nathanyeil Govea scored six each in the loss.
The Lobos shot it well on the road hitting 28-for-52 from the field at 54% while connecting on seven-of-14 from behind the arch at 50% and 10-of-12 from the free throw line at 83%.
San Angelo Lakeview struggled with the Lobo defense hitting just 14-ofg-37 from the floor at 38%, only attempting four free throws on the night and suffering through 36 turnovers.
