Sundown Sweeps Gold at the Lubbock Invitational

The Sundown Roughnecks and Roughettes got into a big field at the 2020 Lubbock Invitational and behind individual golds from Gabby Peralta and Koy Torres, both teams captured teams golds at the meet.

Gabby Peralta took the girls gold in 12:52.40 running four seconds faster than Wellington’s Kyla Kane in second at 12:56.60. Alexa Rodriguez took sixth for the Roughettes in 13:35.90 while Natalie Urias took eight in 13:44.80 and Francis Ybarra tracked down tenth in 13:54.00.

Sundown’s girls amassed just 34 points handling second place Wellington who ran second at 64 points.

The Roughnecks followed suit as Koy Torres ran a 18:21.50 for the individual boys gold out-pacing Tyler Seeley from New Deal at 18:32.00.

Brayden Sanders took fourth in 18:40.8 while Bryson Sanders chased down seventh in 19:10.80. Mathais Salgado added 15th in the gold medal effort.

Sundown took the top spot in the boys field with 43 points while New Home ran second at 55 points.
