#21 Frenship Snaps Levelland Win Streak; Levelland Moves to 16-and-10

Loboette Volleyball Team Pic 2019The Levelland Loboettes had a tall task on Tuesday night as they dropped a three game match to #21 6A Frenship 25-23, 25-15 and 25-14.  The loss snapped a four game winning streak and slides their record to 16-and-10 overall.  Frenship moved to 22-and-six on the year and have won 18 of their last 19.

Frenship got a five point service run from Emma Davis early in game one to build an eight point lead, but the Loboettes came storming back on a four point run from Annie Dewbre and the Lady Tigers had to hold off the Loboettes for a 25-to-23 win in game one.

Despite leading by four points early in the second, Levelland suffered another run from Davis who cranked up a six point run midway through the second and Loboettes never recovered as Frenship won the second frame 25-15.

Game three, the Loboettes just couldn’t get the wheels turning again as the Frenship Lady Tigers won the third 25-14 and won the match 25-23, 25-15 and 25-14.

The loss moves the Loboettes to 16-and-ten on the year with four matches to go before district opens.

Levelland was out-killed 37-to-31 while winning the block column two-to-one.  Frenship hung five aces on three faults while the Loboettes collected four aces on five faults.

Michaela Watkins led the charge with 10 kills while Kazzi Spears took seven kills in the loss.  Annie Dewbre added five kills and one block while Kaylee McCarter took four kills.  Mahalie Stafford added three kills and a block.

Annie Dewbre led the service column with nine points on two aces as Chloe Dunn and Kazzi Spears added single aces in the loss.

Frenship got a 10 kill night from Madison Ramsey while Gracie Harrison added nine kills on the night.  Emma Davis led with 14 service points on one ace.

The Levelland Loboettes slip to 16-and-ten on the year with four games remaining before district opens on September 28th.

Levelland travels to Shallowater on Saturday before hosting Seminole on Tuesday the 17th and heading to Monahans on Saturday the 21st.  Non-district play wraps up with Pecos in Levelland on Tuesday September 24th.

Saturday’s trip to Shallowater have all three teams in action with the Freshman and Junior Varsity starting at 10:00am and the Varsity at 11:00am.
