January 9, 2019

loboloyaltyThe Levelland Lobos played their final non-district contest of the year on Tuesday hosting Trinity Christian and while shooting just 27% from the field, the Lobos fell to the Lions 67-to-44 to close non-district play at 12-and-nine.

Trinity Christian got nine in the front quarter on the back of three threes from Ethan Ducan while Levelland lived on just two field goals from Jakeevian Ford leaving the Lions in front 20-to-four.

Duncan hit for 13 more in the second and expanded the lead to Trinity Christian 38, Levelland 12 at the half.

The back half led to better scoring for the Lobos but it was too big of a hill to climb.

The Lobos outscored the Lions 32-to-29 and dropped the contest 67-to-44.

Jakeevian Ford paced the Lobos with 13 in the loss but was the only Lobo in double figures.  Isaiah Salazar scored seven while Bryant White and Broderick Golightly scored six each.  Connor Barnett chipped in five with Reid O’Connor scoring three and Zaiden LeCroy and Bryan Gonzalez adding two each.

Ethan Ducan tore the Lobos up for 24 while Tru Buchanan scored nine and Noah Fornari added eight from the bench in the win.

Levelland just simply struggled in the shoot department hitting 16-of-60 from the floor and just six-of-27 from behind the three point arch in the loss.

The Lobos move to 12-and-nine overall and prep for the opening of district play on Friday night when Canyon High comes to call.
