Mendiaz Tosses Complete Game Win, Levelland Scores 11 in Final Two Frames and Blow Out Tornadoes 15-to-Three

The Levelland Lobos moved to two-and-two in district play on Tuesday as Jorge Mendiaz the Lobos scored 11 runs in the final two innings for a 15-to-three blow out over the Golden Tornadoes.

Levelland got on the board first as Zack Estrada reached on an error and scored on a Noah Ochoa single. Devin Lopez would run for Noah Ochoa and after stealing second would score on a ground out from Tanner Morrow and Levelland led two-to-nothing after a half inning.

Lamesa answered with two in the bottom half behind singles from Elijah Garcia, Nate Ruiz, and Dakotah Alexander coupled with a walk from Jordan Derrington and after one the game was tied at two all.

Levelland scored again in the second when Triston VanZandt singled, stole second and scored on a Matt Martinez single pushing Levelland in front three-to-two.

Lamesa answered again getting a walk from Demerti Rodriguez attached to a Lobo error and through two the game remained tied at three-to-three.

Little did anyone know, that was the end.

Levelland would score again in the third on a base hit from Noah Ochoa and Devin Lopez, again running for Ochoa, would score on a Lamesa error and Levelland was in front four-to-three after three.

Levelland would go scoreless in the foruth and fifth but grabbed three more in the sixth on singles from Logan Anthony and Matt Martinez coupled with two more Lamesa errors.

The wheels completely came off the wagon in the seventh as Levelland sent 13 to the plate collecting eight runs on eight hits, and a walk and sealed a 15-to-three win.

Levelland got 15 runs on 17 hits with four errors while Lamesa scored three runs on five hits with four errors.

Jorge Mendiaz tossed the seven inning win allowing three runs with two earned on five hits, three walks and four strikeouts.

Lamesa drops to three-and-one in district play and host the two-and-two Brownfield Cubs on Friday.

The Levelland Lobos move to two-and-two in district play and travel to oh-and-four Seminole on Friday.
