Lobo Golf Opens District With Second Place Finish in Opening Round
Levelland Lobo Golf took to the links on Monday and opened the district in second with a solid 347 on the opening day.
Levelland hosted the district field at the Levelland County Club and behind a field leading 77 from Hunter Reid, Levelland managed a second place team finish at 347, just three strokes behind first place Seminole. Denver City took third at 388 while Lamesa placed fourth at 391 and Seminole II went fifth at 396.
Levelland’s Hunter Reid led the field at 77 and was the only sub 80 scored carded on the day.
The top ten individual scores included Seminole grabbing second with Justyn Sales at 84 and two for the third slot as Briley Cavazos and Caleb Kildow shot 85 each. Fifths went to Levelland’s TJ Brooks and Lamesa’s Josh Cisneros both at 86 while sevenths went to Parker Freeman of Seminole and Matthew Jones of Lamesa shot 89s. Steven Wiiest of Levelland and Ethan Robledo of Seminole shot 90’s to round out the top ten.
The Levelland team included Hunter Read at 77, TJ Brooks at 86, Kelton Johnson at 91, Brenden Duncan at 93 and Isaiah Diaz at 101.
Other Levelland golfers included Steven Wiiest at 90 and Stevn Patterson at 102.
The Levelland Lobos will travel to Shadow Hills in Lubbock on Monday April 2nd for the second round of district while the Loboettes open district play on Thursday March 29th at the Lamesa Municipal Golf Course.
