South Plains College picked up a local cowgirl on Tuesday as Levelland’s Kenzee Kent has inked with the South Plains College Lady Texans for the 2018-19 rodeo season.

Kenzee Kent is a senior at Levelland High School and will be in the breakaway roping, goat tying and barrel racing ranks for the Lady Texans coming up.

The Lady Texans have been having a hayday kind of a year in 2017-2018 as they currently sit in the top slot of the points in the NCAA Southwest Region with four rodeos left this spring.

“We are excited to have her compete with us next year,” said South Plains College Coach Kerry Doster.  “She has had the opportunity to hang around our practices the last couple of years and we think it will make the transition to the college level easy for her next season.”

Kenzee is the daughter of Keith and Keely Kent of Levelland.
