The Loboetttes were never really threaten in the contest as they hung up six aces in the first game and nine more in game two. They followed that up with a 15 kill game three to complete the sweep.

Gisel Gonzales went on a 18 point service run in the second with eight aces in the string while Madi Ruiz 12 point run in the third including four aces.

Levelland out killed Lubbock Estacado 34-to-four while the blocks went even at one each.

Levelland would hang up 19 aces in three games compared to just one for the Lady Matadors. Those 19 aces came against just four service faults. Lubbock Estacado faulted three times, all in game one.

Paige Royal connected on 14 kills to lead the Loboettes while Makayla Escue added seven kills and one block. Kazzi Spears and Kelsie Davis added four kills each while M’Kenzi Campbell picked up three kills and Brooke Lamb added two more.

Madi Ruiz would lead the service points with 18 points on a 21-for-21 effort and five aces. Gisel Gonzales only served in the second but connected on 16-for-17 from the line with 16 points and eight aces. Mia Rendon added six points on a pair of aces.

Lubbock Estacado got single kills from Jazmine Diaz, Tamori McCoy, Tye Perryman and Ahriah Hill while Diaz and Desiree Ladezma served for two points each.

The loss for the Lady Matadors drops them from playoff contention in 2017 and cuts the field of six down to five playing for four playoff spots.

That number was cut a little further as a Seminole win over Lamesa sealed a playoff spot for the Maidens leaving three spots left for four teams.

Levelland moves to 19-and-14 on the year and five-and-one in the district and clinches at least a share of a playoff spot.

The Loboettes can clinch their playoff spot outright with a win at Brownfield on Saturday.

Freshman and Junior Varsity are set to start at 10:00am on Saturday with the Varsity at 11:00am.
