Loboettes Add Another Veteran Coach, Rick Musemeche to Skipper Levelland Softball

June 28, 2017

RickMusemecheLess the a month after Levelland ISD named veteran coach Shelly Kay as Levelland Loboette Volleyball Coach, the Loboettes have another veteran on the way as Rick Musemeche has been named to skipper the Levelland Loboette Softball program.

Musemeche is no strange to the softball diamond as he comes off a 19 year stint as head coach of the Stamford Lady Bulldogs. During the stretch, the Lady Bulldogs put together eight playoff appearances.

Before the run at Stamford, Musemeche spent six years in the Houston ISD system.

“I’m very excited to be here,” said Coach Musemeche in a conversation with KLVT Sports. “I’m excited to meet the girls and excited to get our camp going.”

Loboette softball camp will be held opening on July 11th and run through July 13th. Incoming 3rd through 6th grades will be in camp from 8:00am to 10:00am on those three days. Incoming 7th through 9th graders will be in camp from 10:30am to 12:30pm. Cost of the camp is $40 and a link to sign up for the camp is provided below.

Musemeche will also be coaching Freshman volleyball under new Loboette Volleyball coach Shelly Kay. He noted that while he does not have a lot of volleyball experience, he is looking forward to learning more about the sports and hopes to have a great year with the Loboette freshman.

As far as moving to west Texas, he noted his daughter and grandchildren live in Lubbock and the opening for Loboette softball worked out perfectly.

“We (Coach Musemeche and his wife) we’re going to be moving to the area to be closer to our grand kids anyway. The opening with the Levelland Loboette softball team worked out perfectly.”

Welcome to Coach Rick Musemeche and remember to catch all Lobo and Loboettes sports all season long on KLVT AM1230 and http://www.klvtradio.com.
